Chicago police have made an arrest in the August murder of Lovely Page, 54, a Black trans woman. He was detained by the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Alex Rodriguez, 57, has been charged with one felony count of first-degree murder and one felony count of murder (other forcible felony). He was arrested on Tuesday, December 19. His detention hearing will be Wednesday, December 27.

I came across an article you did I just wanted to say thank you so much and the update is the detective finally got the state to charge the person and he is now in jail bond court was yesterday.
She also said “grief is a long journey that you somehow try to find healing along the way you be so helpless when it comes to grief.”
I’m glad this murderous son of a bitch was caught. Justice for Lovely and her family. But also justice for other potential victims. Encouragement for the survivors of those whose deaths we’ve reported without closure. We need more closure. Justice requires us to more aggressively hold all anti-trans offenders accountable for the harm they cause.
Rest in power, Lovely.
