As popular as they are, the #AMPLIFY posts don’t have the reach that my original blogging does which affirms my commitment to keep these stories intertwined with the rest of the posts. In between writing about the epidemics of violence, the harm of anti-poverty initiatives and some of my own personal experiences with negative factors, we all need the stories of lives lived in spite of those obstacles. I believe reading about the everyday experiences of LGBTQ people in their own words fleshes out the posts that I write about people who can no longer speak for themselves.
I highly recommend this as a holiday gift for the pets and their people in your life. It is a very reasonable price for a nice gift that will bring year round comfurrt. And being designed by a pet massage therapist, the wraps are amazingly well contured to the bodies of pets. She is very familiar with their unique physiology, the value of heat/ice and their tendency to wriggle. Her seamstress consultant handled those technical angles, together being a great team to design an item that is really a good fit.
Which fall shows should totally be canceled already? OK, so nope to that prompt. Instead, here is my list of shows that should be picked up by Netflix and/or Amazon Prime already. All in the Family/The Jeffersons/Good Times/Maude – Norman Lear’s relevance to modern times can’t be overemphasized. We need Florida, Archie and Weezy to […]
Here’s my annual roundup of toy distribution resources for Western Pennsylvania. Many Toys for Tots enrollment deadlines are right around the corner while other sites have not yet posted. Please share this information with anyone you know who may need assistance with toys this holiday season.
I will update this post as more information becomes available.
In June 2015, we added this question to the Q&A
“What motivated you to take part in this project?”
The responses have been enlightening when I consider why people take 30-60 minutes to share some of their most personal thoughts with the wide world. Their investment isn’t fleeting – the Q&A will live on as our archived collective experiences.
“I particularly wanted to participate because I wanted an older perspective to be included.”
The Washington Post ran a powerful piece that has gone viral these past 24 hours, a profile of a Brownsville woman who supports Donald Trump. Melanie’s story is painful and resonates very deeply – she’s struggled with anxiety, sexual harassment in the workplace, poverty, and the pain of her courtroom victory around the harassment being […]
I’m a pumpkin fall junkie so just for random fun, here are some of my favorite memes. (From previous years if you get a giggle out of this like me.)
Folks, I am tired. It has been a long, hot, and sneezy summer for me. I’ve been caught in relentless torrential downpours, had to go car shopping, lost power on an 85+ afternoon, managed multiple ill pets, wondered every day if this was the day the central AC motor would die, worried about the leaking […]
While prepping for the Pittsburgh Guest Blogging Event, John from Ya Jagoff and I had a colorful conversation that he described as: I am laughing at this email. It has more nasty words in one email than any email I’ve ever sent or received…sounds like it came from George Carlin. Lol!!! It all began in […]
