Ruffing DVM Pet Food Projects, memorializing one of her very best friends who died in 2007. She also writes extensively about her family history, drawing on her amateur genealogy hobby. The blog regularly reviews arts and cultural events as well as exploring restaurants, soap opera storylines, and hyper-local news. Sue and her wife Laura have been together since 2003. They were married on a very cold February 2, 2021 in their backyard at a very small ceremony co-officiated by their pagan priestess friend, Anne, and then-Mayor Bill Peduto. They have six niblings, four in Pittsburgh and two in Philadelphia.

Things You Might Learn and Experience Processing Your Trauma

Today, I saw my trauma therapist. I’ve been working with her for eight years, through her transferring to three practices and countless psychiatrists. She’s working PT now so I also have a primary care therapist so my time with Brittany is spent on trauma work. After I told her I wrote a post about our […]

I Climbed the Ladder to the Kitchen, not Success

My therapist recently asked me to recount a childhood experience where I felt or knew that I had been abandoned. At some point in our childhood, my parents started taking off for little drives on my Dad’s off days. They would leave while we were still at school and come home when the spirit moved […]

Long lost photos bring unexpected joy to my 55th birthday

Yesterday, an innocuous brown box arrived at the house. There was no name, so I opened it figuring it was a 50% chance of being mine. I was right. Inside I found a package from my brother – a very large handful of photos he had found when he was packing to move. I was […]

Then I load up my all time favorite movie ‘When Harry […]

The Right to Marry is not the Requirement to Marry

Why are nearly 50% of same sex couples still cohabitating without getting married? This post is part of my ongoing court cases around same sex divorce, civil rights, and trauma. I have three legal cases and one additional legal action sort of floating around involving my work to Protect Trans Kids. I still need help […]
