Ledcat and PreciousLedcat aka Laura is a 49 year old lesbian who started blogging when her partner launched this site.

Ledcat is the nickname Sue invented to protect Laura’s identity in the early days of blogging. It is an amalgam of her initials and cat, something Ledcat used back in the days when AOL required a user name. It was only a matter of months before people in the community began calling her Ledcat instead of Laura – as in “Hi, Sue. Where’s Ledcat? I hope she’s coming, too!” (Ahem)

Laura is new to the world of blogging as activism although she has been active in the Pittsburgh LGBT community for many years. She has a law degree from West Virginia College of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.

She currently resides in Manchester on the North Side of Pittsburgh with her partner Sue and various cats and dogs.

She loves music and reading.

Interview with Emily Saliers of ‘The Indigo Girls’ About Their Upcoming Pittsburgh Show

What’s really on my mind and on Amy’s mind is that we have to remain active in the political process, keep our eyes and ears open seek out any sources of information or education we can get to stay on top of what’s happening. If they had it their way behind closed doors they would just push through all this legislation and hate and roll us back and its intolerable and it can’t be done, so that’s my that’s what’s on our minds as far as our activism and staying vigilant these days in particularly with regards to the queer movement,

Letter to the Editor Regarding Jennifer Graham from Ledcat

Letter To The Editor Pittsburgh

I have been a long time subscriber to the Post Gazette. Every few months I dutifully send my hard earned money to a paper I presume will not fall into the same trap of mindless hatred as some of the other fine papers in this region. After reading Ms. Graham’s article, I realized that I was wrong. […]
