As you know, the focus of the Dr. John P Ruffing VMD Pet Food Pantry is to support the folx, the people doing this work.
Most of the time, we provide supplies and materials for their work.
This week, something changed – we received gifts of extra tickets. One set was for a Pirates game and the other for a local arts event.
I cannot emphasize how good it feels to share these opportunities with our folx, to celebrate in some small way, them. One artist hadn’t been to this venue in decades b/c it was out of her budget. Another couple planned a date night. Yet another are taking their kids to a family outing at PNC Park.
All of them deserve the fun, the joy, and the support. Caretakers scraping by to cover household expenses often won’t access paid events … because they feed and care for their critters.

Concerts, shows, sporting events, house tours, really anything is welcome.
