This last Halloween, I harvested some pumpkins

Today, I harvested the final three of our five backyard pumpkins. Four are at the house and one is at Fort Faulsey.

The vine itself is starting to give up the ghost. Hopefully it will return next year. Did you catch the joke – ghost/pumpkin?

All five are robust and sturdy. I see meaning there, using my time here for growth and to bloom. I will plant the pumpkin seeds at Fort Faulsey to have more pumpkins next year. The trick seems to be making sure the grass cutter doesn’t mow down the vine when it first blooms. This year, I will be more thoughtful about that.
