After a decade, I opted not to publish this series in the primary races. The perpetual indignities and disrespect disgusted me.
But … it is feature a lot of people asked about this year. So I’m back with a smaller, sleeker General Election Q&A.
Who can participate? Anyone running for elected office in Pennsylvania. Any office, anywhere. My readers are from all over the state and beyond. You must also be pro-choice and affirm total LGBTQ+ equality.
Because your Q&A’s are always very long. What’s smaller and sleeker mean? About 12 questions.
How soon should candidates return it? We aim for three weeks, but I also so – I publish in the order they are returned. We can be flexible.
Who has agreed to participate?
So far
- State Representative La’Tasha Mayes
- State Rep/Congressional candidate Chris Rabb
- State Representative Ismail Smith-Wade-El
I’ve reached out with an offer to all folx running for the PA State House, PA State Senate, Congress, etc.
For example, do I have any dream Q&Aees?
We’ve never had a Gubernatorial Q&A. I was also glad to add State Senator Jay Costa last time to just have his voice in the archive. I’d like to have Senator Fontana this year. He’s my Senator and I’ve interact with his office quite a bit. I’m also hoping Rep Abney will participate – he’s my State Rep. And Chris DeLuzio would be great.
Other voices I’d like to read
- Bob Brooks, Congressional candidate
- Brandon Dukes, PA State House 12
- Jen Mazzocco, PA State House
- Dan Frankel, State House
- Jason Landau Goodman, PA State House
- Katie Muth, PA State Senate
- Jennifer O’Mara, PA State Senate
- Lucia Simonelli, Congressional candidate
- All of these awesome women
And I welcome back all of our previous participants. Congresswoman Summer Lee, State Representative Jessica Benham, and State Representative Emily Kinkead have been very consistent in each election.
What sort of questions do you have in that small, sleek Q&A? We ask everyone pretty much the same questions, leaving one or two to tailor to the specific campaign. We’ll ask about your familiarity with LGBTQ+ concerns, election integrity, Dem leadership & unity issues, and flipping PA House District 12 (a very big deal for LGBTQ folx) and more.
Why should a candidate participate, especially if not in Pittsburgh? Because I guarantee I have readers and followers in your community. Or adjacent. You will reach people who can have an impact on your campaign. People who need to hear from you will hear from you (read you?)
As of now, my total following across all platforms is 300,000. That’s a lot of exposure. If you are interested in SEO, that’s okay. I’m not the only platform to reach progressive, LGBTQ+ voters and allies, but I am one and have been around a long enough time to be pretty credible.
But you should participate because you want to Protect Trans Kids. Full stop.
Send me an email pghlesbian @ Gmail dot com. I’ll customize your Q&A and get it back to you very quickly.
