That Time When The Netherlands Took Down My Website

We’ve been offline for a few days. Apparently, my site was targeted by Distributed Denial-of-Service attack. From the Netherlands.

DDoSed.

I’m wondering if an onslaught of Tony Geary fans came to read my memorial blog post? I mentioned Amsterdam.

I know it is not literally a lot of real people from the Netherlands who visited my site. And knocked it off its pedestal. But it is more interesting than me panicking over the convoluted technical stuff and the boredom/frustration of going through all of my plugins.

Sometimes I secretly worry that my site will be targeted. For real, for real.

It is frustrating that I can’t afford to pay a web guru. I have some who help me, but I can’t pay them. I feel like a calvary would respond after I panicked posted for help, but that’s not a great business model.

On the bright side, I had reason to read the history of the Netherlands which is quite interesting.

But we are back …
