Wenne Alton Davis, a 60 year old nonbinary actor, was killed in New York City on Monday, December 8, 2025. They were walking, crossing a street.

From NBCNews

The New York Police Department said in a statement that Davis was found by officers just after 9 p.m. lying in the road after a Black Cadillac SUV struck them on West 53rd Street and Broadway in midtown Manhattan. Davis sustained severe trauma to the head and body and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.

The driver remained on the scene.

They were born in 1965 in Durham, North Carolina.

Wenne was best known for roles in ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ and the 2014 film ‘The Normal Heart‘ but had over 90 acting credits to their name.

When not acting, they worked in security at John F. Kennedy International Airport. They recently booked an audition and were planning a return to stand-up comedy.

Everyone describes Wenne as a light, a rare friend they will greatly miss.

I found a clip of their scene from the show ‘Rescue Me’ and thought a slice of their work was the best way to end this post.

Rest in power, Wenne.
