Some cases came to light during this past year, but took place in the past. Here are six neighbors whose stories became to known to us in 2025. Their identities are unknown.
Unidentified white female, estimated between 30-45 years, found April 19, 2001 in Chicago Illinois. The listing describes her as a transsexual male but it is unclear if she was AFAB or AMAB. The decedent was found wedged between rocks on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. NamUs #UP138168
Unidentified white male, estimated age 24-35 years, found April 17, 1986 in Lexington, Kentucky. They were found in a burning house in Fayette County, Kentucky. NamUs created June 29, 2007. They were found with some feminine clothing items “belt-less purple-violet women’s pants, light red-pink female blouse with green-red-yellow-blue weave pattern, short sleeved female shirt with blue and white squares and label “Nancy Green NY 16″; portions of white shirt”
Unidentified white male, estimated age 30-60 years, found August 20, 1989 in Miami, Florida. he decedent was found lying supine on the roadside, Northwest 117th Avenue and 12th Street, wearing red underwear pulled down to his knees. Female clothing and part of a heel from a lady’s shoe were found in close proximity to the decedent’s body. Unidentified male, Hispanic/Latino, estimated age not given, found February 15, 2020 Parlier, California. The deceased was found in a studio apartment, wearing Blue jeans, blue boxers, blue bra. NamUs #UP147512
Unidentified male, unknown ethnicity/race, estimated age 15-35 years, found May 15, 1982 in Key West, Florida. apparent female clothing present with the remains.
Unidentified male, unknown ethnicity/race, estimated age under 60, found February 27, 2023 in Miami-Dade County. a construction demolition crew arrived to a residential duplex structure for demolition purposes. During a routine check of the structure to ensure it was empty, the decedent’s skeletal remains were discovered lying/blocking the inside doorway. The property had been abandoned since 2019. 3 pairs of leggings 1 pair of “Mickey Mose” Joggers 3 Bras (1 Victoria’s Secret, 1 Joe Boxer and 1 No label) Pair of Blue plaid boxer underwear 1 Wig.
These details are not consistent or necessarily coherent. But these individuals are our siblings and neighbors who deserve to be acknowledged and grieved. Please follow the Trans Doe Task Force to stay connected to the cases and others.
