What’s better than a Sunday matinee on a crisp autumn weekend? Don’t laugh.
I’m excited the season begins soon. Even writing ‘the season’ feels so festive.
The previous season has been a powerhouse – Witch at Carnegie Stage, Miss Julie via PICT, POTUS at City Theatre, 12 Angry Men at New Hazlett, Christmas at Pemberley also at City, my first encounter with Virginia Wolfe at the Public, many solid musicals, and a tremendous debut of Seagull by Quantum.
This year, I’m looking forward to many of these shows. It feels smaller, perhaps due to funding cuts, but our need to engage the arts is paramount. Be sure to check out this piece from WESA 90.5 about the challenges local theater groups are facing.
To that end, we are refreshing the ‘Seven with Sue +1’ Q&A series sponsored by Bistro-To-Go Cafe and Catering.
Next week, we’ll publish the first Q&A while heading to The Benedum to enjoy Neil Diamond and then over to the South Side for a world premiere the following week.
October and November are packed.
Remember, many companies have Pay What You Can pricing, rush tickets, rehearsal pricing. You can still see the show!
