Each election cycle, our blog publishes Q&A’s with candidates for elected office. You can see previous Q&A’s at this link. During 2023, we published 29 Q&A’s.
Obviously, the Presidency is literally at the top of ballot, but don’t dismiss the many other critical elections. We invite candidates from all races in Pennsylvania to complete our Q&A’s. It is a solid way to reach the LGBTQ community (and beyond), but it is not an endorsement.
We customize the Q&A’s for each candidate and include about 19 questions. I publish them in the order you return them to me.

U.S. Senate
Incumbent Democratic senator Bob Casey Jr. will seek a fourth term.
U.S. House of Representatives
All 17 congressional districts in the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania are up for election in 2024.
State offices
Attorney general
Attorney General Josh Shapiro, who was re-elected in 2020, was ineligible to seek a third term in 2024 due to term limits. However, Shapiro was elected governor in 2022 and resigned as Attorney General upon being sworn in Michelle Henry was confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Senate on March 8, 2023 to serve out the remainder of Shapiro’s term, and has indicated she will not seek election to a full term.

Treasurer
Incumbent Republican treasurer Stacy Garrity was elected in 2020 and is eligible for a second term.
Auditor General
Incumbent Republican Auditor General Timothy DeFoor was elected in 2020 and will seek a second term.[5]
Pennsylvania Senate
In the 2024 general election, 25 of 50 seats (the odd-numbered districts) in the Pennsylvania Senate will be up for election.
Pennsylvania House of Representatives
In the 2024 general election, all 203 seats in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives will be up for election.
Candidates can be anywhere in Pennsylvania running for any level of office. Please note that these are not necessarily endorsements, more of an opportunity for candidates to connect with the LGBTQ community, progressive neighbors, and others with an interest in Pennsylvania politics. By participating, candidates are saying that they:
- are an LGBTQIA+ ally, including full support of equality for transgender neighbors.
- identify as pro-choice
- must affirm that President Joe Biden won the 2020 election and that you accept the certified Pennsylvania’s election results
We customize this Q&A to your candidate’s specific record and race. If you agree to participate, we will set a mutually agreed upon deadline. Also, we published the Q&A’s in the order you return them. We rely on active supporters to share this opportunity with candidates and encourage them to participate.
