Yesterday, I erroneously listed local comedian Mike Bosco and Douglas Diegelman as the owners of the Steel City Cellar comedy club. That’s the venue that allowed a white woman dressed as Hitler to enter, get served, and enjoy some chuckles.
I apologize to Mr. Bosco and Mr. Diegelman for that error and have made attempts to clarify their role with the cellar.
I wanted to confirm so I did some digging. While I am indifferent to any discomfort the woman who wore the costume and her sidekicks deserve, I am curious about who profitted from the decision to let her in. Who owns it, who is employed there? Who are all of the people who made a few pennies from her drink, but didn’t respond to her costume?
So it appears that the Cellar is co-owned by local comedians Peter Zee and Colton (also spelled Colten) Buzard. This is from an interview on the Big Hoss’s Tailgate show on I Heart Radio.

My guest this week is Peter Zee! Peter and fellow comedian, Colton Buzard have opened a new comedy club in Pittsburgh called the Steel City Comedy Cellar
A third profiteet is Douglas Diegelman, owner of Max’s Allegheny Tavern, home of the Cellar.
One interesting note is that Diegelman wrote a book about Deutschtown history – he did his research using AI, but wrote it all himself. One would think someone recently researching the history of a German part of town would have a heightened sensitivity to the impact of a Hitler costume. So I did a quick AI search for “Is a Hitler Halloween costume offensvie?” and the answer did not surprise me at all.
Steel City Cellar’s business entry is as a LLC registered to Pete Zee under his legal name, a Haitian charity is also registered to him. That seems incongruous as our modern white nationalists are zealously threatening the TPS of Haitian immigrants.
One interesting note is that Peter Zee was born and raised in the Netherlands. Nazi Germany occupied The Netherlands from 1940-1945. Hitler’s Nazis killed 75% of the Jewish-Dutch population. In total, over 300,000 Dutch people died as a result of Nazis. This includes soldiers and civilians.
I’m gonna speculate that Colten Buzard has ancestors – grandfathers, uncles, etc – who served in WWII. But that’s speculation.
So Peter Zee and Colten Buzard are presumed to own the business, Doug Diegelman owns the venue/space, and Mike Bosco is employed there as a show host, performer and maybe to train new comics. That part is a little vauge because content has disappeared from Facebook.
They profit from this choice. They silence critics, while claiming that all speech matters. They don’t give a damn about the harm their collective endeavors wrought on the Northside. They assumed a defensive crouch and show no signs of growth, accountability, or grasp of history.
Calls for boycotts are child’s play in this era of modern Nazis relentlessly ripping people from their lives, murdering protestors, and earning a signing bonus. The very least you can do is stop going to their restaurant and avoid the cellar. Don’t go to the comedy shows and let the venues know why. There is no such thing as an overreaction to this scenario.
I promise this will likely pass over as people pivot away from local monsters and bigots all of the time. Remember the Nazi in Millvale?
Pittsburgh business owners are profiting from Nazis.
Are you still laughing?
