Why is Allegheny County Government Denying Me My Day in Court?

So here’s my occasional plea for your help. I am in the midst of three court cases stemming from events in August 2023. I was homeless for six months. I’ve been home for nearly two years, but things are tough.

I depend on you to help me with living and legal expenses while these cases play out. I depend on you to sustain this blog which I bankroll completely out of pocket. We have a few ads, but those are coming down soon because they are causing technical glitches. And they generate about $40/month.

So my federal case is now in US Federal District Court of Appeals on what’s called motions to dismiss. Basically, Allegheny County and UPMC don’t want the case to proceed. That case involves things like due process, mental health, homelessness, disability, LGBTQ identity.

On the local level, I’m in a divorce case where the Courts reduce a relationship of 16 years as registered domestic partners and 2.5 years as married spouses so a 2.5 year length of marriage. That’s patently absurd. If they uphold it, I will be homeless again.

The third case is a sort of personal injury case around the damages and trauma from being (wrongly) 302d.

And there’s a long standing case hanging over my head – a defamation case around the Protect Trans Kids Project filed by a local TERF.

I have to fund all of those legal things. Plus, live. My source of income is SSDI, about $1500/month. So everything from a meal at Eat n’ Park to Uber to my meds is a concern, a balancing act.

I can’t crowdfund the rest of my life. But for now, that’s my only option. The sole asset I have is this blog. Selling it would be heartbreaking. Please help me avoid that fate.

If you value the content I create or you value me, I’d appreciate your investment at any amount.
