How to Request Toys For Tots in Western Pennsylvania 2025

Toys for Tots Pennsylvania

This is our annual (15 years)) round-up of Toys for Tots programs in Western Pennsylvania for 2025. I’ve done my best to sort through the available information and provide you what you may need to know. PLEASE click through to the applicable link to double check the details. I will update as information becomes available.

BIG CHANGE – Toys for Tots has an app

you can download for iPhone or Android.

I tried the Android version. It has options to find a site near you, submit the family application, check your application status, and information about donating. The app is also in Spanish. I don’t know how well it works, no one does right? So if you use it, follow up with your county contact sooner rather than later.

Why should I share this blog post?

Some registrations begin in October Please circulate as Toys for Tots may be the only option for our neighbors. People who aren’t using these programs often have reasonable assumptions that they can request toys in December or that they can choose toys, etc. They need solid information as soon as possible to manage their expectations.

You never know if someone in your social media circle could benefit from Toys for Tots or similar programs. They may not tell you. People are losing jobs left and right. Maybe they are more focused on paying the rent than holiday gifts, but that will change. Regularly sharing this without judgment on your social media platforms will reach more people.

Some of the Toys for Tots pages are harsh and regimented. Others are heavy on Christian themes. Some are pretty respectful and dignified. I wish I could make it more respectful and dignified for everyone. Also, I cannot confirm that these projects are LGBTQ friendly/affirming. Some are affiliated with the Salvation Army or other faith-based organizations. So proceed with that in mind.

One thing I noticed is that most of the projects have cut back hours, enrollment times, toys that will be distributed, etc. A few other things to bear in mind

  • Click through to your county link and triple check the information.
  • If you can find a Facebook page, I suggest liking it and checking regularly

Please share this information with anyone who may need it and share it soon – some counties have cutoff dates in late October. Share in groups, share on pages, share via private email. People need accurate information.

Please note that the Play It Forward project is another option. We’ll do a separate post on their organization. Their distribution is To Be Announced. at the David Lawrence Convention Center. This project CAN be confirmed as LGBTQ welcoming and affirming. If you have items to donate, I very much suggest you consider Play It Forward. Here is their donation page.
