This weekend, Saturday October 18, Americans return to the streets in a show of grassroots resistance known as No Kings events. The first event was on June 14, 2025, when organizers estimated that more than five million people participated in more than 2,100 cities and towns across the country.
This time, rallies are again planned across the nation, many organized by local Indivisible chapters. You can use this somewhat dizzying map to find rallies near you.
The map shows Western Pennsylvanians have planned at least 21 rallies. You can literally attend multiple marches if you’re willing and able. See below the list for more general information.

I was genuinely stunned that Mercer County is hosting three events in Mercer Township, Grove City, and Hermitage. This county is a bastion of red Pennsylvania, especially Grove City, so this is a welcome turn of events.
In my opinion, 21 rallies within a 90 minute driveof Pittsburgh (not counting OH and WV) is a solid plan:
- Shows that this is not just a City liberal elite message, it reverberates through the suburbs, small towns, and rural communities.
- Allows people working or with other commitments to participate.
- It’s more accessible to everyone – those relying on public transit, those who don’t have a ride into Pittsburgh, those who feel safer close to home, those who need disability accommodations, etc.
- You can go to multiple rallies. The combinations are numerous. You could start in Coraopolis, drive to Indiana, PA, THEN head to Johnstown and finally back into Shadyside in Pittsburgh.
- Standing with neighbors in red parts of our region is important. I found a lot of social media content arranging counterprotests in Beaver, Beaver County. That County has seen ICE damage. You might consider heading that way to bolster the local turnout.
There is a lot of advice on how to safely participate. I will update tomorrow.
