Someone in my neighborhood is removing my #ProtectTransKids yard sign. Five days in a row, it was removed from its perch on my vehicle, laid on a table.
The other sign, #PghCatFolx, is undisturbed. I have moved them around, used different things to hold them in place, so I’m sure it is not the wind or an angry squirrel. It is a person who is deliberately trying to make trans kids (and trans folx) less visible in our Manchester neighborhood.
Only a handful of people are back there five days in a row – the dog walkers, the people walking, and the contractors working on sewage lines who have a station back there. Probably five people drive down the road (alley) every day.
If someone were going out of their way to be malicious, I’d expect them to destroy the sign or damage the other signs. I go out that gate every afternoon or evening. And I am not happy about any of this.
Trans kids live in our neighborhood, Manchester on Pittsburgh’s Northside. They always have. They always will.
You can support the work of Pittsburgh LGBTQ Charities on both trans and critter issues.
