OUTrageous Bingo will celebrate 16 years of raising funds to support Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ Community Center (the GLCC) and Shepherd Wellness Community at their upcoming event on Saturday, December 7, 2013.
And the bloggers will be there to help make a little history. We’ll have a table to play together and cheer on our very own John Chamberlin from YaJagofff.com as the guest caller for the evening.
Date: Saturday, December 7, 2013
Time: Doors 6:30, Bingo starts at 7;30
Location: Rodef Shalom in Oakland
Cost: Tickets are $15, purchase online in advance. **The previous two bingos sold old and this is considered the big one of the year so buy your tickets soon)
Who: Anyone who blogs, reads blogs, shares blog posts, loves a blogger, married/partnered to a blogger
Age: This is a family friendly event (a little tongue in cheek ribald but PG-13) Lots of people bring their kids, but you have to buy a ticket.
RSVP: When you buy your ticket, use your own last name. Then click on reservation and select Bloggers. If you want to email me at pghlesbian at gmail to confirm, I’ll be double checking the seating chart with the bingo volunteers.
Is there food? Yes, there is a concession stand with hot dogs, nachos, etc. We can bring some baked goods to share and so forth.
Is it a holiday theme? Several holidays. It is perfectly fine to wear seasonal attire or some holiday bling.
May I take pictures for my blog? Please ask people if you can take their photo and let them know you are posting on your blog. It is fine to take photos of the caller, the volunteers and the entertainers.
Entertainers? Yes, there is a festive drag performance (age appropriate, don’t worry) halfway through the evening. Please bring your single dollars to tip the performers who donate their time and talent.
May I promote my blog? The rule of thumb is that if we put together a door prize, we can distribute a handout. It is a great way to reach 500+ people, especially if everyone commits to blogging about bingo after the fact – people will want to read your posts. So, to be on the flyer, please email me with what item you can contribute. And we can discuss how to get it in the door prize which will probably be a festive large gift bag that we fill that night.

WHY? The Pgh Bloggers group folks have often said that they want to get together. This combines an opportunity for exposure to a potentially new audience with supporting two important local community organizations with a very fun and unique evening’s entertainment.
