This is an experiment.
As you may recall, I have a Legal and Living Expenses Fund to help me navigate some unplanned waters – you can read the history here.
I still need help. My income is $1500/month. Beyond my household share, my food, my transportation, my pet expenses, etc, I also have blog expenses. Plus, the lawyers want to be paid. The reality is that I will probably not be self-sufficient again in my life. While that sucks, I have to do what it takes to meet my basic needs and keep this blog running.
Rather than throw myself groveling at your feet to beg you for help, I’m going to remind you why you have invested in me – your time, your support, your social media shares, and your donations. We are going to reconnect during Pride Month 2026.
Prepare for daily posts with interesting moments in my Pride and LGBTQ journey as well as some blog content favorites and big community moments. I’ll use words, images, video, audio and maybe interpretive dance (no)
Content will go up on my GoFundMe page and Patreon first, then posted here on the blog with a few days lag time.
I might do some ‘behind the blog’ video if the cats agree.

Coming up Monday – did my Pittsburgh June childhood memories prepare me to celebrate Pride?
The hashtag is #PghPridePosts ….
June 1 – Happy Pride and welcome to my #PghPridePosts series.
June 2 – On this lovely June 2, 2026 – I’m thinking about my time(s) at Pridefest. These were the 1990’s. What is your first memory of Pride?
June 3 – Today’s #PghPridePost memory involves my first out gay friend. It wasn’t my friend John. It was a young male friend, K.
June 4 – History of the Dyke March – I wrote a lengthy post on this in 2024.
June 5 – Today’s #PghPridePost is a philosophical assessment of Pride, building on the work of Jim Fischerkeller with my own twist.
June 7 – Six days into this little gimmick and I missed a day. I’m not the person who missed things all of those years – I drink the kale smoothie, never miss therapy, always take my meds, feed the cats, etc.
June 7 – Some folks you should think about this pride month. You can read all of the memorials on my blog. I’m posting this list everywhere. We should all read it many times. These are our neighbors.
June 8 – Today’s #PghPridePosts is perhaps controversial, but sincere. Did the Thin Blue Line distinguish German Police Officers from Nazis?
June 9 – Today’s #PghPridePosts (just realized the grammar doesn’t work) is my own coming out story. Nothing fancy. But it put me on the trajectory to my relationship/marriage and my blog.
June 10 – Todays #PghPridePosts contribution is a bit of bad news – the landlord of the person who stored the pet food threated her “you want to have somewhere to live, right?” so we had to close.
June 12 – It used to be just one Pride unless you went to Erie or Philly. Now there are too many to choose from. Also, we really need MORE Pridefests
June 15 – think this is a good one – the story of my first ‘lesbian date’ or date with another woman. She identified as bi which I knew, but we both called it a super lesbian date. This was 1999.
June 16 – Browsing newspaper archive coverage of Pride events. Here are a few gems.
June 17 – Yesterday, I gave some thought to legal and living expenses. It seems the reasons I set it up, the intentions behind your gifts, and the expenses I covered should be a source of shame for me. There’s no shame in asking for help. No
