I feel the loss of the Post-Gazette quite keenly, but I am hopeful that the tenacity of the union will hold things together and allow us to resume having a world class paper in a world class City. It is especially sad on this anniversary of the Tree of Life Shooting to see the people who earned a Pulitzer for their stellar coverage of a mass shooting treated with such contempt by their employer.
Below is a link to donate to the Strike Support Fund. As the daughter of five generations of steelworkers, the legacy of strikes is in my DNA. The collapse of Big Steel made our lives a perpetual cycle of strike/layoff/typical times. People gave to help the steelworkers. I hope you will consider a donation to support the people who bring us an equally valuable resource – the news.
In 1 week our strike fund has received $36,238. This money goes toward supporting all striking workers at the Post-Gazette who are taking a stand to say our families – and you – deserve better.
