Monday March 23 marks five months since Andre Gray disappeared from his Lawrenceville home. Andre is 5’9″, 200 lbs. He is part of the LGBTQ community. There have been no significant leads in the case.
Andre’s family has repeatedly said that they want closure, they want to bring Andre home. They have organized searches, reached out to anyone willing to help, and maintain faith that they can find some answers – that someone somewhere knows something.
Our best hope to secure new information is to increase the reward fund. This has been confirmed by the police as well as by community leaders. Bloomfield Garfield Corporation has established a crowdfunding appeal with the goal of raising $5,000. So far we have raised $1,115 (plus a $1,000 reward offered by Crimestoppers.) The fund can be found at http://bit.ly/BringAndreHome
We are asking you to join us on Monday March 23 in a social media awareness effort to remind people that Andre’s life matters. To launch a new community blitz with flyers, we first need to reach the $5,000 goal so we can update all of the literature. To reach $5,000, we need your help – will you commit to help us raise funds on Monday by sharing the #BringAndreHome meme?
How to participate
– Share the meme on any social media platform using the hashtag #BringAndreHome and including the link http://bit.ly/BringAndreHome
– Write a blog post or a Tumblr post using the meme and asking your followers to contribute to this cause.
– Email your friends and personally ask them to donate any amount & share the information on their own platforms.
– Pass a hat at your upcoming gathering. Cash donations can be taken to BGC offices or to any PNC branch. I can manually add that to our crowdfunding page.
We are putting together a tee shirt sale that will also benefit this fund, but that won’t be for a few more weeks.
Will you please help us strive closer to the goal of raising $5,000?
Please feel free to reach out to me for more information or details.
