Sue

Sue comes from a long and proud yinzer/steelworker tradition, stretching back over 150 years. She grew up in West Mifflin home of Kennywood and the great yinzer hang out Century III Mall where she was misguided on the value of big hair and neon jewelry for years.

Sue has a bachelor's degree in political science from Marymount University where she landed a six month internship with then-Congressman Rick Santorum. in his DC office.  Having successfully withstood the cult of the uborn fetus, she took off for Louisiana to dally with graduate school.  A few years of the Southern good ole boy network scarred her for life and sent her fleeing to Western Kentucky where she attoned for all those beignets with a year of social service outreach work in a town with more klansmen than redlights.  A brief stint with a gospel radio station gave her an appreciation for blue grass music and life outside of doublewide trailers.

Then she came home.  She earned an MSW in Community Organizing from Pitt and began an illustrious career as an underpaid, overworked social worker.  She did land another brief job in radio, hosting a daily human service feature program on a Mon Valley AM station that was soon swallowed whole by Froggy. Now she handles community outreach for a local human service agency.

Sue is overly fond of Starbucks, brownies and blogging.  She donates frequently to the Carnegie Library through the overdue-book-plan and subscribes to far too many magazines for any one household.  She and her partner Ledcat live on the Northside with a multitude of dogs and cats.

When not blogging or picking up after pets, Sue can be heard discussing lesbian issues   with John McIntire on his as yet unnamed radio program.
