Very reasonable -- and helpful, because you are offering to educate and move people towards understanding. I would also love to see this effort aimed at the KISS 91.6 "morning freak show" hosts who constantly talk about "trannies and grannies" for no apparent reason (other than it rhymes and seems incongruous -- you know, because there are no elderly LGBTQI people. Ugh.).

I am a GG and sometimes wear three bras, ranging from a smaller up to a larger size, with the larger being underwired. If you put them on from smallest to largest, and carefully jiggle around what you have to "play" with, it gives you really great uplifted cleavage. It is a trick used often in the cosplay scene. Just an idea.... But aside from that, poor cici. She was a beautiful woman, and having read the article I must say she will be on my mind all day.

Trish - a friend wrote this today http://oneangryqueer.blogspot.com/2013/04/a-letter-to-john-aravosis-and-other.html

It addresses some of your comments. Clearly, we aren't outraged enough b/c while we can't always stop the murders, there's simply no reason we as a society can't impact media coverage.

And it is really a damn shame that effort that should be invested in supporting Ci Ci's family & loved ones while pushing for a thorough investigation to catch a murderer will have to be somewhat diverted to address this sordid mess. That shouldn't be the issue.

I'm not sure how eloquent I am tonight - but I really appreciate your post and hope we can continue to bring attention to Ci Ci's life and give her the dignity she deserves in death.

Thanks, Jennifer! :)

About the best one I've read is "She's Not There: A Life in Two Genders" by Jennifer Finney Boylan.
She's just written an updated version that's coming out next week:
http://www.amazon.com/Shes-Not-There-Life-Genders/dp/0385346972/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1367006887&sr=1-3&keywords=jennifer+finney+boylan

She's also written a new book about being a transgender parent:
http://www.amazon.com/Stuck-Middle-You-Parenting-Genders/dp/0767921763/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1367006887&sr=1-1&keywords=jennifer+finney+boylan

Hers is a MtF perspective, of course. Jamison Green's "Becoming a Visible Man" is a good book from a FtM perspective.

Great POV Trish! I have recently committed to educating myself on trans "issues" (for lack of a better word). I have had the pleasure of meeting Jazz, a 12 yr old MtoF kid who absolutely amazes me on a daily basis. I am wondering if there are any books you might recommend. Not necessarily medically based, but real stories of trans people that I could read.
