This hole appeared where PennDOT had been parking very large vehicles. Perhaps they should have used a wee smidge of the leftover asphalt to fix it?

Bucket of ????

This black bucket has been laying the field for weeks. It apparently contained some sort of liquid black stuff. It doesn't strike me as suitable for reuse.

This says it contains asphalt and has several sections using the word "hazardous." I didn't have gloves to shake and see it had any remaining contents.

A tire probably not of PennDOT vintage. An orange and white striped road sign thingy and what appears to be the top of a container, like the coffee things caterers use. What could it all mean?

No Dumping

They are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone illegally dumping. I called and no one seemed to care. Where's my $500?

The house with the blue trim was "restored" by a professional developer and is reportedly on the market for over a quarter of a million. Would you want to live next to this?

In hunting, I think they call it a bluff when there's grass in which to hide. I could be wrong. But this is the stand of grass and weeds that protects dumpers from view by the houses. It is a perfect screen.

The view that started it all

Imagine a white dump truck between the greenery and the brick wall. That was my view this morning when I saw the dumping. Ironically, I hit a similar brick wall when I called PennDOT to report it.

Gravel dumped in lot on August 12, 2008

This was dumped sometime during the day. We left at 9:00 AM and it was not there. When we returned home around 5:45 PM, it was.

We suspect from the marks on the far side of the pile that someone might be storing this here temporarily and coming back for loads. But we aren't experts on piles of stuff so that's just speculation.

Regardless, our neighborhood is not a warehouse for construction materials.
