Murphy is the Audio Visual Techninan for City of Asylum Pittsburgh and Sampsonia Way Magazine, sells antique photographs at Bernie's Photo Center on the Northside, and is Media Director for ReelQ, Pittsburgh's International LGBT Film Festival.
