Pat Benatar Rocks My Favorite Independence Day Song

A new-to-me version of one of the best songs, this time featuring Pat Benatar singing with Martina McBride from 2003.

In Pat Benatar’s hands, I really noticed the lyric “Let the right be wrong'” which can sometimes sound like “Let the hurt be wrong” but Pat really hits that phrasing. And I need that. We all do. We need to realize that there is a direct tie between the ‘Right’ and domestic violence. We need to realize that women are not fully independent in our society when their lives are so dictated by some men (no one is.) We need to realize that protecting abusers and men in our lives who hurt people puts us in the wrong.

Stop protecting abusers. Let the right be wrong.
