NaBloPoMo: The Time Of My Day

At what time of day do you feel the most energetic and productive?

Wow, this varies. My natural rhythm is to be productive late at night, but the sleep regimin requires that I decompress earlier in the evening. Still, I occasionally wake up at 2 AM with an AWESOME idea and have to resist the urge to get up and open the laptop. Lord.

My schedule is pretty much – wake up, get up and work to actually wake up; productivity in the AM basically revolves around making coffee and managing to feed the critters. From like 10 AM to 7 PM, I can have a few energetic and productive moments. But it so depends. Did I eat? How are my symptoms? Am I distracted?

Part of it is this instinctive collission of genius and the chemicals in my brain with an infusion of something either pissing me off or getting me all excited. Like a great tweet or a news story or whatever. Part of it is feeling good – when I eat well, sleep well, hit all the wellness milestones for a few days, my energy is consistently good. I could go with the instinctive mode, but the price I pay is too high – there’s something to be said for being coopted! 🙂
